Obituary For Mrs. Mary Frances Pegues

Mrs Mary Frances Pegues, age 88 transitioned peacefully from this earthly life on July 19, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in High Point, NC. She was born on December 29, 1937 in Cheraw, SC to the late John and Martha McCoy.

She relocated to High Point in 1964 and was a former employer of Henredon Furniture. Mary loved to bake and cook for her family and friends. She also loved to listen to gospel music. Mary was married to the late Mr Lester Pegues. In addition to her late husband she was preceded in death by her two sons, Richard Pegues and Marion Monk; two grandsons, Antwon Oliver and Gregory Monk and her eleven brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memories are her four daughters, Eva Monk Herndon, Linda Oliver, Helen Clinton and Bobbie Jean Pegues; one son, Jeff Pegues; eight grandchildren, LaTanya (Ronald) Monk, Tasha Robinson, Marcus (Nakiya) Robinson, Jamal Pegues, Kendrick McBride, Ashanti (Vincent) Abikoye, Sylvia Pegues and Tahesha Monk; eighteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
