Mrs. Melissa “Missy” Burns Madden, a very loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to many departed this earth on Sunday October 25, 2020 peacefully at her home in High Point, NC. She was born on January 28, 1967 in White Sulphur Springs, WV the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Ruth Burns, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Vaughn; grandmother, Georgia Burns.
“Missy” attended Greenbriar East High School in Lewisburg, WV after graduating High School she went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
At the time of her death she was a very loyal employee of over 10 years at Multi-packaging Solutions/ Westrock in Greensboro, NC. She was a devoted Christian and surrendered her life to Jesus Christ in 1994. “Missy” was an incredibly happy, joyful, and kind spirit that could make anybody laugh with her amazing personality. From the time she was a young girl “Missy” was an avid cheerleader and was cheer captain at her high school for two years, she took pride in her splits. Missy could name any song from her favorite era the 80’s and 90’s and loved herself some Michael Jackson.
Her life of love and fond memories will be cherished by her family: husband, Patrick Madden; dughter, Ave’ Maria Madden; sons, Emmanuel Madden and Katherine Vasquez and Zion Madden; grandson, Gabriel Madden all of High Point, NC; sister, Gail Woods of New Jersey; nieces, Jenaya Woods of New Jersey and Veronica Vaughn of Texas; paternal aunt, Helen G. Burns Prater of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; mother in-law, Bertha Madden of Greensboro, NC; sisters in-law, Letitia Madden and Pattie Madden of Greensboro, NC, Camilla Madden of Burlington NC and Shirley Madden of Columbia, SC; brothers in-law, Chris Madden of Burlington, NC and Raymond Madden of Columbia, SC; nephews, Tyler Madden of Greensboro, NC and Jeremiah Madden of Columbia, SC; nieces, Jasmine, Ashley, and Jacqueline of Burlington, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A private funeral service will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at Spirit & Truth Worship Center. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park.

I remember Missy as a neighbor growing up.I was often at their home as I grew up with Cheryl. Missy was the youngest sibling.I love them all. I'm glad she blossomed into a beautiful young lady and was blessed with a 💓 husband and kids.We must trust God even when we don't understand.May she rest in Heavenly peace.Gail, I love you
