Rhonda Quick Brown entered her heavenly home peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital High Point Medical Center following an extended illness.
Rhonda was born on July 4, 1967, in High Point, North Carolina to the late Claude and Rosa Quick. In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her beloved son, Calvin Benjamin Brown βLil Cal,β brother, Daniel B. Quick, nephew, Cornelius Ray Woods and niece, Terina Campbell Hale. Also reunited in heaven with her cherished in-laws, William Brown, Sr. and Annie Lou Brown.
She attended T. Wingate Andrews High School and received her Associate Degree in Early Childcare education from GTCC.
Before discovering her purpose at Macedonia Resource Center, she worked in childcare for several years. She was a natural leader and mentor that went above and beyond to empower others, always seeing the potential in others before they could see it in themselves. Even during her illness, you found time to inspire others and provide positivity to keep them hopeful during difficult times.
She was a faithful member of Eternal Life Ministry where she attended regularly until her health declined.
Her family affectionately referred to her as "Rhonda Kay," and she never encountered a stranger.
She shared a strong bond with her sisters, they were more than siblings, they were built-in best friends and soulmates. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed going to events, shopping, dining out, and relaxing by the lake with her husband, using her favorite phrase, "we out here in these streets." Very seldom you wouldn't see one without the other.
For 28 years, Rhonda was married to Calvin Brown of the home and she leaves to cherish her son, William Brown of Fayetteville, NC; two inherited children that she opened her home and heart to, Jasmine and Joshua Jackson, inherited grandson, Kayden Ater; six sisters, Carolyn (March) Singleton, Sharon Smalls, Claudia (David) Williamson, Rosemary (Raymond) Steele, Jennifer (James) Parker, and Angela Quick; one brother, Christopher Quick all of High Point, NC; one brother-in-law, William Brown, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Brown, High Point, NC and Helen McKiver of Bennettsville, SC; two special nieces, Rosalind Woods and Latasha Blackwell, a good friend, LeKeisha Bethea; her best friend of 47 years, Delores Harp; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends that will miss her.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

My deepest condolences to the Brown and Quick families. When I think of Rhonda, two bibles come to my mind: Proverb 18:24, Rhonda wasn't just a co-worker or a friend, she was more than a sister to me. Whenever I needed something, Rhonda was there to help me. When I didn't know how to do something, Rhonda was there to guide me. We enjoyed each other's company and could talk and laugh for hours. When I saw Rhonda and Calvin together, I would think of the bible verse Proverbs 18:22. To me and many others, they were the poster couple for "This is Love". I will miss Rhonda Quick Brown. Not only was she my classmate since junior high school but she was a good friend that I shared work space with at Super X Drug store. She was always willing to lend a listening ear and provide a safe space for those in need. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and genuine care will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May God's love, comfort, and peace surround you during this difficult time.
