Mrs. Ruby (RueMae) Sellers departed this life to go home with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2020. Ruby was born December 15, 1940 to the late Newport and Irene Balem Miller Saunders of High Point. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harvie Sellers; sisters, Nancy Saunders, Joan Saunders Brown, Dr. Mattie S. Jones and Barbara Saunders; brothers, John A. Saunders, Hubert J. Saunders and Stevie Saunders.
Ruby attended High Point City schools and graduated from her beloved William Penn High School Class of 1960.
Ruby accepted Christ at an early age and truly loved and served the Lord as a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sons, Erick D. Davis, Sr. (Lucretia) of Wichita, KS, Rodney D. Sellers, Sr. of the home; brother, Ronald Saunders (Aljuana) of Severn, MD; sisters, Patricia Berry (Samuel), Donieree Jones of High Point, NC, Sara West (Michael) of Chesterfield, VA.; four grandchildren, Rodney D. Sellers Jr., Christopher Dylan Sellers, Erick D. Davis, Jr., and Cori Dauda (Sheriff); great-grandson, Kyler G. Dauda; god daughter, Lauren Parker; uncle, Clarence Balem; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and special niece, Cassandra Saunders who cared for her daily needs in her time of need. A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Mrs. Sellers may be viewed on Monday, September 7, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.

Eric and Rodney and family, I met your Mom at VLC when we would have things for the women and loved her from the start. She was such a sweet lady and I know you will miss her. I know she has seen the face of Jesus and is happy and well! Till we meet her again, I am praying for all of you because I know how it is to lose our Mother. God bless you!
