Versie Lee Cotton Sanders, 97, peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Her church family and pastor were an essential part of her life, and she cherished the time she spent with them.
Versie leaves to cherish her memories seven sons and six daughters: James Cotton (Dianna), Gregory Cotton, Samuel Sanders (Tammy), all of High Point, NC, Kenneth Sanders (Beverly), Christopher (aka Tony) Sanders of Raleigh, NC, Reginald Sanders of Duluth, Georgia, Jasper Sanders (Teresa) of Fayetteville, NC, Magdalene Sanders Jackson and Faye Sanders of Charlotte, NC, Anna Lou Sims of York, SC, Jessie Mae Simmons of Rochester, NY, Emma Grady (Milton) and Jacquelene McCallum (Maurice) both of High Point. Sanders family. I leave words of comfort by the grace of God. Memories are many as I can recall countless times that while Mrs. Versie was raising Sam and Antonio, the neighborhood kids were being raised as a result. In the summer, Sam and Antonio would take naps during the day; as a result, I would go home at times and rest. I send my most fervent of prayers out to this great family during these times. The Lord has another great one in Mrs. Versie. Love you all.
Sincerely,
Lenoir (Killa) Wilson
