Obituary For Ms. Beatrice Holder

Mrs. Beatrice Weeks Holder, 82, passed Sunday October 13, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born in Columbia, SC October 16, 1936 to the late Jeff and Ethel G. Weeks. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Weeks and Jeff Weeks; stepmother, Mrs. Maudie Mae Weeks.

Beatrice attended South Carolina Public Schools. She met and fell in love and became a loving wife to Herbert Hoover Holder. They moved to High Point and both were employed at Myrtle Desk Company.

Surviving to cherish fond memories are three daughters, Edith and Barbara Darby of the home; Janice (Edward) Miller of High Point, NC; one son, Herbert Lee (Tina) Holder of High Point, NC; four grandsons, Joseph Ewing, Triston (Brittany) Ewing of High Point, NC, Cordares (Chrissy) Ewing of Illinois and Johnathan (Ashley) Darby of High Point, NC; four great-grandchildren, Laurin, Aminah, Landon and Ashton; a very special sister-in-law whom she loved dearly, Mrs. Verneas Weeks; two very special lifelong friends, Mrs. Arnetta Steed and Mrs. Eloise Whitworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives from the Weeks, Wright, Holder, Felder, Miller, Davis, Watlington and Ewing families.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 833 Leonard Avenue. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Moses Cone, Camden Rehabilitation and Sarah Little her caregiver.
