On Saturday, October 21, 2023, Gwendolyn Garrison sadly passed away at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in High Point, North Carolina. Granny was preceded by her parents, Lois Garrison and Howard Curry; brothers, Cornell Garrison and Larry Garrison; her aunt, Robbie (Bo) Garrison.
Gwen was born to Lois Garrison and Howard Curry on November 26, 1958, in High Point, NC. She graduated from High Point Central High School and worked at Oakdale Cotton Mill for approximately 20 years.
Our dear Gwen was a loving, charismatic, and very outgoing person who enjoyed shopping, watching sports, and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a devoted member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Many people close to her affectionately referred to her as Granny. She was a true Golden Girl, a grandmother, mother, sister, and friend; her memory will continue to inspire us all. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Nina Garrison; four grandchildren, Josh Garrison, Terrill Garrison, Alexis Garrison, and Cateria Garrison; three great-grandchildren, Amani Garrison, Chance Williams, and Naomi Garrison; two loving sisters, Aquilla Garrison and Dianne Lea (Stacy), her brothers, Willie E. Garrison (Ollie), Vinson Garrison and Jerry Garrison (Marie), she has also left behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
Her life will be celebrated on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church 401 Wise Avenue with Reverend Roy L. Fitzgerald, Pastor and Officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

My sincere condolences to Diane and the entire Garrison family. Our ties go way back to when our mothers would stay on the telephone for hours. They were the best of friends and all of you felt like family. The last time I saw Gwen she was upbeat and still handling her business at the grocery store. We were discussing the massive increase in the price of food. I know she will be greatly missed. I pray God will give the family comfort and peace, during this time of your loss. RIP Gwen!🙏 Lorraine Whitworth Jackson
