Lorie Ann Wright, earned her wings on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home. Lorie was born May 5, 1961 in High Point, NC, daughter of the late Minister Robert Wright and Annie Mae Wright, and grew up in Jamestown, NC. She was also preceded in death by her “sweet” Donald Lee Tucker.
She worked for Brayton International (Steelecase) in High Point for over 18 years, as a “master” furniture finisher. Lorie was overly generous with her gifts, always cooking meals, catering small events and lending her skilled hands to help others. She loved family, especially her grandson, nieces and nephews, and she was the chef for every family event. Lorie was a very hard worker but always had time for family or a friend in need.
Surviving is her daughter, Ashantia Wright (Jerome) of the home; her beloved son, Darrell D. Wright, Sr. (Paulette); three siblings, Charles Edward Johnson, Jr. (Annie) of Wadesboro, NC, Hester (Cookie) L. Wright of High Point, NC and Robbie L. Wright (Lori) of High Point, NC; one aunt, Ruby Lee Baker of High Point, NC; two uncles, John Wesley Allison of Statesville, NC, Robert James Archie (Annie) of High Point, NC; one grandson, Darrell D. Wright, Jr., two favorite cousins, Steven W. Allison (Teresa) of Statesville, NC and Willie C .Wright of Florence, SC; her best friend, Velvet Ginniwa of High Point, NC; her bonus sons and daughters; and a host of close nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Thomasville, NC. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. Ms. Wright may be viewed on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.

I keep reading this and all I can hear in my head is " Cookie and Lorraine, Cookie and Lorraine, Cookie and Lorraine. As kids, we could say " Lori Ann," so for us ( The Baker's) She will forever be Lorraine. Man there are no words to adequately express the impact of this loss. Love Cassandra
