Obituary For Ms. Lucy Edith Lowery

Mrs. Lucy Edith Brown Lowery was born on November 17, 1921 and received her heavenly wings on Saturday, February 20, 2021. At the time of her passing, she was a resident of the GrayBrier Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Archdale, where she had been a resident for the past 10 years. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and a long-term companion, Wade Worthy. She was also preceded in death by her very close cousins Carrie Elizabeth Wilson and Rosa Quick and a very special cousin, Clarence Edward Gidderon.

Lucy gave her life to Christ and was baptized at First Emmanuel Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina. Lucy loved her church family and gave freely of her time by serving on the Kitchen Committee and as a member of the Senior Choir, where her bass alto voice joyfully sung praises to the Lord.

Although Lucy had no children of her own, she was a mother figure to many of her cousins, who affectionately called her “Yuddi”. Lucy loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A private memorial service will held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. There will be no public viewing.
