Obituary For Ms. Myrtis Moore

Myrtis Moore departed this earthly life on March 15, 2020 at Hospice Home of High Point. She was born in Red Springs, NC on May 26, 1943 to the late Fred and Mary Craddock Moore. Myrtis was the sixth of eight children. She was also preceded in death by her four siblings, Freddie, Ellwood, Betty and Joyce Smith; her niece and nephew, Martese Smith and Edward Fitzgerald Smith.

In 1957, the family moved to Thomasville, NC, where Myrtis graduated from Church Street High School. Myrtis was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville, NC. She loved her church and family dearly and spent many years caring for her mother. Myrtis also loved to shop and cared dearly for children both in her family and others that she would meet.

She leaves to cherish loving memories of her three loving siblings, one brother, Donnie Moore (Deloris) of Durham, NC; two sisters, Mariel L. Moore of High Point, NC, Helen M. Roseboro (Edward) of Jamestown, NC; nieces and nephews, a very special niece, Valentina Smith Curtis (Larry) of High Point, NC, Lisa L. Moore of Northfield, MN, Leslie Moore of Waco, TX, Scott R. Moore (Shaunda) of Chicago, Il, and Ashley D. Roseboro (Ashla) of Washington, DC, and great-nieces and nephews, Kyndal Curtis, Myles Curtis, Essex Robinson Willis, August Rustin Willis, Alistair Henry Roseboro, and Anderson Davis Roseboro.

Funeral service will be held Friday, March 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Due to COVID 19 (Coronavirus) pandemic for the safety of the family and the public, only 40 immediate family members will be allowed in the service.
