Obituary For Ms. Priscilla Delphine Bridges

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."β€” 2 Timothy 4:7

With profound love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Priscilla Leak Bridges, affectionately known as "Cilla." Priscilla peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was born on September 21, 1967, in Wadesboro, NC, to the late Bennie Leak and Mary Ross Sturdivant Leak. Priscilla was the baby of the family, and following the passing of her parents at a young age, she was raised by her older sister, Bennie Mae Dickerson (Morris Dickerson), who became a guiding presence in her life. It was during this time that she relocated to High Point, NC, where she built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, friendship, and service.

She graduated from High Point Central High School, Class of 1985, and dedicated her life to caring for others. Blessed with a genuine love for people, Priscilla found her calling in both childcare and healthcare for over 25 years. She worked in childcare before becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, serving at Pennybyrn and as an Activities Director at Evergreens and Shannon Gray. She spent many years caring for the elderly with compassion, patience, and dignity. Whether caring for children or seniors, she had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. She was truly loved by many whose lives she touched through her kindness and servant's heart. Above all, Priscilla loved the Lord.

She was a faithful and devoted member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a member of the Church Choir. Her faith was reflected in the way she livedβ€”through her generosity, compassion, unwavering encouragement, and the love she freely shared with everyone she encountered.

While Priscilla loved many, nothing on earth brought her greater joy than being a mother and grandmother. Her children and her precious granddaughter were her heart, her greatest blessings, and among her proudest accomplishments. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, never missing an opportunity to encourage them, pray for them, celebrate their victories, or simply remind them how deeply they were loved. Every decision she made was rooted in her desire to provide, protect, and pour into their lives. Whether offering wisdom, a listening ear, a home-cooked meal, or a warm embrace, Priscilla's love was constant and unwavering. Her one and only granddaughter, Naima Leak, affectionately called her "Nana." Their bond was one of pure joy, laughter, and unconditional love. Becoming Naima's grandmother was one of Priscilla's greatest treasures, and she embraced that role with the same tenderness, devotion, and selfless love that defined every aspect of her life. Her greatest prayer was that her children and granddaughter would always know the love of God and never doubt the immeasurable love she had for each of them.

To know Priscilla was to know unconditional love. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms. She was genuine, nonjudgmental, nurturing, selfless, and deeply family-oriented. She found great joy in preparing meals, gathering with family and friends, sharing laughter, fellowshipping, and dancing whenever she had the opportunity. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome, and her table was always open to anyone in need of a good meal, good conversation, or simply a place to belong. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like family. Her beautiful smile, infectious spirit, and giving heart left an unforgettable mark on countless lives.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bennie Leak and Mary Ross Sturdivant Leak; her daughter, Mary Delphine Leak; her sisters, Linda Faye Leak Barringer, Bennie Mae Dickerson, Nettie Ruth Leak, and Mary Magdalene Leak; her brother, Thomas Leak; and her cherished grand-dog, Kendall Bridges.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children, Triston "Shad" Leak, Kristin Leak, and Faith Bridges; her beloved granddaughter, Naima Leak, her devoted special friend of many years, Landis Baldwin; the fathers of her children, Marvin Bridges and John Gray; her sisters, Roeather Leak of Wadesboro, NC, Betty Ann Robinson of Wadesboro, NC, Robin Elaine Leak of High Point, NC, and Janice Leak of Wadesboro, NC; her brother, Barry Leak of High Point, NC; her brother-in-law, Morris Dickerson of High Point, NC; her sister-in-law, Lilly Leak of Jamaica, NY; her aunts, Alberta Lamphley of Asheville, NC, Rosetta Ingram of Charlotte, NC, and Carolyn Sturdivant of Morven, NC; her aunts-in-law, Marilyn Sturdivant and Mary Betty Ratliff; along with a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom she loved deeply.

Although our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that Priscilla fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith. She now rests in the loving presence of her Savior.

Her legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, unconditional love, devoted motherhood, and joyful grandmotherhood will continue to live on in every heart she touched.

If you were blessed to sit at her table, share a meal, receive one of her warm hugs, hear her infectious laughter, or simply spend time in her presence, then you experienced the love of Priscilla "Cilla" Bridgesβ€”a love that reflected the heart of Christ.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. Public viewing will be held on Friday, July 3,2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
