Obituary For Ms. Rena Morrison Little
Mrs. Rena Morrison Little entered her heavenly rest on the morning of Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
Rena was born and raised in Morven, NC, where she attended Anson County Schools. She traveled extensively with her husband, John Little Sr., during his tour of duty in the U.S. Army.
For over six decades, Rena was a devoted member of Kings Palace Church, actively serving on the pastoral aid committee, hospitality committee, usher board, and as a member of the senior choir.
Rena loved hosting family gatherings at every opportunity and enjoyed staying connected through phone calls with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and close friends. Her favorite pastimes included watching talk shows, cheering on her favorite wrestlers, completing word search puzzles, coloring, and traveling to visit her loved ones. Her greatest passion, however, was cooking and baking, which she lovingly shared with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, one grandson, and five siblings.
Rena’s cherished memory lives on in her children: Sharon (Timothy Sr.) Merriman, John Little Jr., Marcel (Teresa) Little Sr., and Bonnie Little; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Diane Melton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
