Ms. Tyrika Evon McClain, 27, peacefully transitioned from earthly life to everlasting life on March 15, 2023. She was born on July 1, 1995, in High Point, N.C., the daughter of Annette Hardaway and Tyrone McClain. Her grandparents, Otis and Leona Durant and Richard and Priscilla McClain preceded her in death.
Tyrika graduated from Southwest High School, High Point, NC, in 2014. After high school, she pursued her education and obtained a degree in Phlebotomy and was working on her second degree.
She was employed at Matcor Metal Fabrication, Inc, Lexington, NC. At an early age, Tyrika became a member of High Point Deliverance Center/Greater International Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Frank Smithy, Pastor, and Apostle Dwayne M. Simms.
Tyrika was a Diva in her own way. She was a loving, caring, friendly and outgoing person. She loved styling hair and participating in the latest glamours fashion and style trends. In her leisure, she enjoyed painting pictures and spending quality time with family and friends. Though her physical presence will no longer be with us, we are yet comforted that her spiritual presence will remain with us and will be our comfort, strength, and support.
Tyrika is survived by her mother, Annette Hardaway; father, Tyrone McClain; grandmother, Okarita Durant; fiancé, Trison Barton; four sisters; one brother; four aunts and uncles and a host of cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

My first gumdrop. The first little girl that adopted me as her god auntie but she was more to me than my god niece she was one of my goddaughters. She was one of the 3 little girls years long before God blessed me with my own daughter who never wanted to leave my side! She was another one of my sons' godsisters, one who they laughed, got in trouble with, and sang loudly in my car and my house, and one who I gave the church mother look to in church when they were all giggling and laughing. One who came to my house always left with something she wanted!! Gumdrop, you will be missed BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!! Your God Auntie Jesta
Every morning I'd come in to work and was always greeted with a smile and a "Good Morning". I really didn't know her personally, but she made me smile! I pray for all of her family and friends.
My little sister was a true blessing to me and my daughter. Funny moment with her was our first tattoos. I am my sister keeper. Love you always and forever. Your big Sister Secoyha Strickland.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
