Pastor Danny LaFrance Rogers was born in Dillon, S.C., on September 12, 1945, to the late Sadie M. Cobb (Joe Cobb Sr.), and Lee Norton. God beckoned, and Danny answered the call on Monday, July 17, 2023, at his home in High Point, NC.
In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles Parker; four siblings, Floyd Cobb, Joe Cobb, Jr., Curtis Cobb, and Mary Ann Rogers; maternal grandmother, Sarah J. Rogers.
He attended William Penn High School and was employed at Broyhill Furniture in High Point, NC, for several years. Danny was the Founder of Faith Deliverance Full Gospel, where Linda Rogers, Co-Pastored and St. Anthony Holiness Church under the direction of Bertha Beauchamp of Thomasville, NC. Family and friends will remember Danny's dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ's ministry.
Danny was loved by all who knew him. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and friend. We will miss his physical presence, but his spiritual presence shall forever be with us to give comfort and consolation.
Left to cherish the precious memories of our beloved: his loving wife of thirty-two years, Linda Rogers, of the home; eight children, Sheriff Danny H. Rogers of Greensboro, NC; Vonda K. Gabriel of High Point, NC; Reginald Rogers of Thomasville, NC; Dannette Green (Timothy) of Florida; Ronald Rogers of High Point, NC; Kaovonda Parker and Tommy Parker of Burlington, NC; twenty-six grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Annie F. Rogers, Margaret Rogers, Mary Cobb, Deborah Cobb and Daisy Burton (James) all of High Point, NC; three brothers, Pastor David Cobb (Lumia) of Thomasville, NC; Melvin Cobb, Ricky Cobb (Harriett) of High Point, NC; one aunt, Mary Lee Ware of High Point, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
