Reverend Howard Brockman, 86, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Adams Farm Rehabilitation. He was born in High Point, NC, on March 7, 1940, to the late Robert Enly Brockman and Hattie Smith Brockman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine Moffett Brockman; his son, Andre Brockman; his daughter, Renita Brockman; ten siblings; his mother-in-law, Nannie Capel; and his father-in-law, Lawrence Moffitt.
Reverend Brockman dedicated 35 years of his professional life to Monumental Life Insurance Company, where he faithfully served as an insurance agent. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church and began preaching at the age of 32. With a deep passion for preaching and singing, he devoted many years to serving the church. Additionally, he held the position of Sunday School Superintendent and faithfully served for 25 years.
In his leisure time, Reverend Brockman enjoyed watching wrestling and football and, most of all, he cherished spending quality time with his family. He was a loving and caring person, with a heart full of love. His kindness, warmth, faith, and genuine concern for others touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his daughter and caregiver, Deborah Isaac (Ronald) of Greensboro, NC; his son, Bryant Brockman (Lisa) of High Point, NC; he is also survived by his siblings, Joyce Harrison, Parthena Brown, Lottie Brockman, and Benjamin Brockman, all of High Point, NC; he is remembered by six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Glen Capel and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his special friend, Rhonda Cook, along with many other dear friends and loved ones.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 808 Hilltop Street. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the home.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
