Ms. Shirley Ann Carmichael gained her wings on August 21, 2022, at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC. She was born on May 15, 1956, a daughter of the late Rosa Lee Williams and James Carl Williams. Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Carmichael, and a brother, Larry Williams.
Shirley lived most of her life in High Point, NC, where she attended Guilford County Schools. She was a very hard worker. Shirley was employed with the Radisson Hotel for over 20 years until her health began to decline. She was a very family-oriented person who also loved planting flowers and had a special love for animals.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Karen Carmichael of Charlotte, NC; one grandson, LeDarrius Carmichael of the home; three sisters, Andria Williams of High Point, NC, Peggy Brisco of Spartanburg, SC, and Viola Holt of Oklahoma City, OK; two special nieces that she took under her wing as her own, Melisha Williams (Malaysia, Mahogany) and J’Neia Haywood; one special nephew, Keenan Williams; a special friend of the family, Kacey McCauley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Such a beautiful lady with a sweet spirit she will be missed.
