Anna Maria Williams was born in Mobile, AL on September 18, 1958. On July 14, 2023, she broke free of her earthly chains and returned to her Lord in Heaven. She was the eldest of ten kids. Her brothers Winiford Barnes, Kevin Barnes, Kenneth Barnes, Thomas Barnes, and Sean Payne will usher her home alongside her sisters, Angela Barnes, Denise Wilson, and Jacinta Bouvay and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Her brother Bruce Barnes waits to greet her at Heaven’s gates with their mother, Luerether Barnes.
Anna was known for her hard work and dedication to excellence. She graduated both Mattie T. Blount High School and Alabama State University near the top of her class. Her career in accounting mirrored similar successes. She received numerous promotions, culminating in her retiring as Director of Finance Accounting and Administration.
Though her individual successes brought her pride, the most important thing to her was family. She leaves her love and legacy with her three children, Tomicka Barnes, Tabatha (Brad) Cook, and Joshua (Katie) Williams, and her beautiful grandchildren, Grayson, Hartley, Graham, Henley, Aiden, and Avery. Anna passed speaking that love to all of them.
We remember Anna as a force for good. She had the kindest spirit and a heart full of charity – the purest love of Christ. With heavy hearts, we lay her to rest on July 20, 2023.
Visitation will begin for the family at 9 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located on 3460 Carter Hill Rd. in Montgomery, AL. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 –10:45 A.M, with a funeral service to follow.
NOTICE: Please be mindful that the State of Alabama and the CDC have advised that we limit gatherings and that individuals who are ill and or are at-risk (e.g., elderly, immune-compromised) should be encouraged to stay home. Social Distancing Practices will be observed during the visitation and service.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Anna. I had the pleasure of taking great care of her during her presence at Baptist East. Such a sweet woman that did not complain of much. My condolences are with the family. May God bring you all peace and comfort during your time of bereavement.
My prayer is for her family that each one will receive the Comfort of the Holy Spirit during this time. Anna was a genuine beautiful soul.
I am so sorry to hear the passing of Anna. I worked with her and always enjoyed talking and laughing with her. She was very special. I also remember her always showing me pictures of her grandchildren. She loved her family so much. God Bless Anna in Heaven. Prayers for the family. Terri Loving
