Washington, Mrs. Callie, A, resident of Montgomery, AL, departed this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00AM from Mt. Zion AME Zion Church, Pastor Claude Shuford, Officiant with a burial following in Shiloh churchyard cemetery.
Mrs. Washington will lie in repose on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 1-8PM at Phillips-Riley Funeral Home, and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services.
NOTICE: Please be mindful that the State of Alabama and the CDC have advised that we limit gatherings and that individuals who are ill and or are at-risk (e.g., elderly, immune-compromised) should be encouraged to stay home. Social Distancing Practices will be observed during the visitation and services.

To Keith and Xavier, your mother was a pillow in the Thorington Family. Mrs. Callie Washington was one of the sweetest, kindest, loving, helpful,and Honorable woman of our time. She believed in family and peace. Your mark on society is precious and pure. Rest well my beautiful Aunt Callie in paradise. Until we meet again, I will cherish your love deep within. You were a wonderful mother, loving sister, caring daughter, and a devoted wife, dedicated grandmother, humble aunt and respectful Christian.
