Obituary For Edwin "Lamar" Henry
Henry, Mr. Edwin, βLamarβ, a resident of Montgomery, AL, departed this life on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11:00AM from the Sanctuary of Mt. Zion AME Zion Church, Pastor Claude Shuford officiant with a burial following in Eastwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Henry will lie in repose on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Phillips-Riley Chapel from 1-5PM, and at the church one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion Church Scholarship Fund.

Lamar,you are in Heaven now and you are having a wonderful time celebrating your favorite mother- law- birthday π π₯³ π π π today. I can hear you calling her mother law and she answering is that you Lamar. Lamar,your homegoing was awesome and wonderful- Mr. Wonderful! The musical tribute was amazing and beautiful. Rev.Shuford did a fantastic job with the Eulogy. He sent you to your Heavenly home in style,Mr. Wonderful!
I send my sincere condolences to the Henry family. Lamar was a groomsman in my wedding. We shared many stories and jokes and developed a wonderful friendship after my return home from Japan. I will be forever grateful for him and Faye in supporting and keeping an eye out for my Mom and Sister after the passing of my brother-in-law. Gone but will never be forgotten.

My prayers and condolence to the Henry Family. We all grew up together in Avon court, from Fews Elementary School to GWCH. Our back doors faced from across the playground. Lamar was always funning and joking even into adulthood. Loved his Mother, Mrs. Sadie dearly. Family allow those sweet, funny and good memories along with your faith help console you.
