Obituary For Hattie Bell Cook
Cook, Mrs. Hattie, a resident of Montgomery, AL, departed this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:00AM from East Chapel Methodist Church, Pastor Clark Psalmonds, officiating with a burial following in Cuba Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook will lie in repose on Friday from 1-8PM at Phillips- Riley Funeral Home, and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services.
NOTICE: Please be mindful that the State of Alabama and the CDC have advised that we limit gatherings and that individuals who are ill and or are at-risk (e.g., elderly, immune-compromised) should be encouraged to stay home. Social Distancing Practices will be observed during the visitation and services.

Mother Hattie Cook was such an inspiration to all who knew her. I have known her Mother, and her sisters from when I was a little girl. They were always ladies who were beautifully dressed. Very friendly, encouraging, kind, and helpful. She served as our church Mother for many years. She graced the corner and pew where she sat. She blessed us with all of the inspirational poems that she wrote and read to the congregation. Mother Cook will always be missed by all of us who knew her. Patrick and family , I extend to all of you my sincere condolences and prayers. Always know that we are here for all of you. We mourn with you in her loss and we celebrate a life that was well lived. Scripture states, "Earth hath no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal." May God comfort, bless, and strengthen you and your family as well as the congregation of East Chapel Methodist Church. We shall always love and miss her as we look in that area where she once sat. May God continue to richly bless you all.
Hattie was one wonderful and caring woman. She was a Godsend to my mother and me.As a young child, she took excellent care of my mother, who had polio, and me. I always felt like she was like a second mother to me! I know she will be greatly missed by many...
