Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. May you find comfort in all the positive things your love one stood for in life. I became acquainted with Bro.Murrell through my parents,Potts's; whom are deceased. They were instrumental in seeing that Jake's mother attended worship service every Sunday after she obeyed the gospel.Brother Jake had a hand in making sure she heard the word of God. He will be truly missed.

There is an old hymn that says "Let The Life I've Lived Speak for Me" Yes,Bro. Murrell, your life speaks of a devoted Christian man,who showed love, kindness, and gentleness toward others. Bro. Murrell was a friend of my father. Bro. Nathaniel Potts (deceased) also a devoted man of God. The life Bro. Murrell lived will find comfort in the hearts of his love ones. I offer my sympathy and prayers to the family.

Daddy you lived a life many wished they could have, you were a God fearing/Loving man who would not pass up a chance to tell any and everyone about the Word Of God, Show off your fishing skills and playing the blues on the guitar or playing church songs by ear on the keyboard. As your youngest I have so many memories of us having a good time together from going to gospel meetings, fishing and you taking me to the bus stop or school, showing or telling me how to cook one of momma's dishes, most of all walking me down the aisle to give me away to the love of my life. I Thank you daddy for giving me the world and teaching me to be the patient caring loving person I am today. Daddy I know you are with momma now and happy again being with the love of your life Love you both. This isn't goodbye this is See you Later.
Jake was a very impressive Christian and he was very faithful, caring and he knew Gods word. He will be greatly missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Love, Jimmy and Geri Bohn

It is still difficult for me to believe my uncle is gone, I have so many memories of him, he was indeed a good man. When my father, his brother died in 1974, Uncle Jake essentially became a second father to me and my sisters, he was always there for us. I remember going fishing with him while riding with Tim and Richard in the back of his old pick up truck. I remember going to the construction sites with him bringing him bricks to mortar. I would love to just sit and talk with him as he reminisced about growing in with his siblings in the deep south! He loved his family and loved playing his guitar... Uncle Jake will definitely be missed. Rest in Power Unk!
Mr. Murrell was truly a Man of God, who lived his life by example of it. I remember all the fishing trips to the Lake, riding in the back of his Truck and spending lots of time with him and his wonderful Family. Well respected throughout the entire neighborhood. I regret not staying in contact. Love you Mr. Murrell. Kevin Tandy...
