Though we only walked the same path for a short season, the bond we formed truly made you my sister in Christ. I am going to deeply miss our early morning hellos and our time together, especially our deep dives into the Word and our shared understanding of what it means to be part of a military family. There is a special strength in those who serve both their country and the Kingdom, and I saw God's strength in you and your smile, my sister.
In this difficult time, I find comfort in the promise of Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
I am also reminded of Matthew 5:4: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
Have rest in knowing your family will continue to be in my prayers. May the "peace of God, which transcends all understanding," keep their hearts and minds steady. You will be missed, my friend, at least for a short time, until we meet again.
Your forever brother in Christ Robert Nicholson
