Abernathy, Mrs. Gertha, A resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1:00PM from Phillips-Riley Funeral Home Chapel, Minister Tamera French, officiating. Burial will follow in Old Augusta churchyard cemetery, Mrs. Abernathy will lie in state on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 1-8PM at Phillips-Riley Funeral Home.

Gertha I was devastated when I heard of your passing. I know God don't make mistakes. We met when we were 16. I will always remember the good times we had! I loved to hear you sing, "One day at a time"! Sleep well my friend!
