Words cannot express my gratitude for Dr. Allen! Her dedication, commitment, and passion that she had for making sure that all people were treated fairly no matter where they lived! I am shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Allen's passing. Shauntice consistently and bravely fought for the right. I admire her for being one of the first to stand up and against some of the injustices that were occurring in the North Birmingham communities. She made a difference in this world. My deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Shauntice. I feel so blessed for the opportunity to get to know through her dedicated effort to improve the health of rural communities, and hope to bring her dreams to fruition. I will miss her wisdom and counsel.
Dr. Allen was my professor and advisor - and only black female professor. I can remember how excited I was when I realized who she was! I'm truly going to miss her and her feedback. She was full of incredible knowledge and it was evident she cared about people and the environment. I'm so thankful we all had an opportunity to experience her. Sending love and light to her friends and families. Sincerely, Kayla Moss
Shauntice was a nice person. Rest on. To the family sorry for your loss. Jackie McCall B'ham, Al. Ryals Public Health Bldg.
...She's quick to assist anyone in need...Proverbs 31 MSG. This is my lasting memory: A few months ago, we caught up. Per Shauntice, I hadn't aged at all 😂😂. We talked work, Faith & family. I shared a recent healthcare need related to a family member that I was struggling to overcome. She decided to navigate, the navigator. Thanks to Shauntice's relationships & persistence, grace was extended to my family member. Dr Shauntice Allen's gift of helping All OF Us will live in our hearts, smiles and memories, forever. Angela G. Williams aka Ms Williams
Dr. Allen taught an environmental justice course I took this past summer of 2023 and throughout the course, I was always struck by her passion to truly get her students involved in decision-making that helps create a better future for all communities. She would close each lecture by thanking the students for their time and dedication with such genuineness and a positive, affirming attitude that I skeptically wondered if she'd still sound that enthusiastic by the end of the semester. True to the woman I am learning she was and who I was honored to briefly know, she stayed the course and transferred her passion for environmental justice to me. My desire is to live a life worthy of honoring her legacy by fighting injustice for those the world chooses to ignore. I will never forget you, Dr. Allen.
Dr. Allen, my friend, you will be missed. Words can't express the gratitude, respect and love I have you. From friend, roommate, boss and colleague. Thank you for being an instrumental part of my professional and personal life.
My sincerest condolences to the family. Dr. Shauntice was such an example of determination with grace. She was always willing to impart wisdom and great support! I am honored to have met her and will continue blaze and ignite others to reach their potential in her memory. ~ Dr. Mynatt

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Shauntice Allen. She was a brilliant woman that cared about people, the community. She loved and appreciated her parents who were a blessing to her and others they encountered. God bless you.
Dr. Allen encouraged students to learn and devote time outside of class to relate the course material to real-life situations. Through her environmental justice class, I learned about EJ issues around Birmingham. I am deeply saddened to hear about her loss and I will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that someday I can use my knowledge of environmental justice and racism to follow in her footsteps and aid others in continuing her legacy. Rest in power, Dr. Allen.
A true warrior indeed. There are so many kind words to describe Shauntice but the one that came to mind first was extraordinary. She fought her fight with poise and grace. She was an awesome friend and a wonderful colleague who will me missed. Rest well Dr. Allen.
