Obituary For Mr. David (Doll) Thomas

David Thomas was born March 2, 1941 in Atlanta, Ga to Jake and Gussie Thomas. He had six siblings; Jaqueline Stinson, Bernice Riley, Jake Thomas, Paul Edward Thomas, Robert Lee Thomas and Cora Thomas. He grew up in the Summer Hill community and attended Price High School where he met the lovely Essie Mae Byars. They wed December, 1968 and had three children; Shai Thomas Harmon, Tavisa Thomas and Damita Thomas. David was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he sang in the male chorus. He was employed with the United States Postal Service for 43 years. He was a dedicated father and husband. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and five grandchildren; Wayne W. Harmon II, Nakia Harmon, Natara Harmon, Nia Harmon, and Nikole Harmon. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Michael Riley, Robert (Janice) Leslie, Vincent Thomas and his brothers and a host of nieces and nephews. He blessed generously and was blessed. He was committed to GOD, family and community. Funeral services will be held on Saturday. April 19, 2025 at 11:00am at United Christian Fellowship 1004 Ga-314 Fayetteville, Ga 30214. Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 in our chapel from 11:00am - 7:00pm. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 10:45am on the day of the service.
