Mrs. Shirley was a very kind and thoughtful person. She would make jokes about me being skinny, and she chuckled about how my hair was so thick. I'll miss her funny wit. Love all ways, Alyah Beltran.
I will always love you Mama Shirley. You gave me guidance when I needed it the most. You accepted me and my children as your own. I feel eternally grateful for being able to say you are my mother-in-law, counselor and friend. I am so thankful to you for raising Vernon to be the man he is today. I cherish every moment we spent together. Every trip to New York and family reunion. Thanks for the oxtails and salmon. Forever in my heart, your daughter, Alicia Jerry.
Mom, when I first opened my eyes to see you it was love at first sight. I followed closely behind you as I grew older, willing to go anywhere you were. You began teaching me things; hard work, respect for your fellow man and most importantly your love for the Lord. As you completed your daily motherly tasks you never once wavered from giving glory to God. You knew in order to be in the house of the Lord daily mortgage payments of faith must be deposited. Now as I go through your earthly belongings you once again left me clues on how to find you. As you now sit in the presence of God your motherly teachings live within me. Thank you for giving me the privilege of being your son and leaving me with the clues to find you again. Love you forever...Vernon
Mrs Shirley was like a mother to me. She was there for my family when nobody else was. Her love for family and words of wisdom were like the soul for the heart. She was loved by everyone, and this tragedy deeply touched everyone who knew her. I pray that God continues to grant her family the strength to bear this loss. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
