A TRIBUTE TO A REAL TEAM PLAYER
What can I say about the many gifts of relationship that God gives to us during our lifetime? When I look back in retrospect to the gift of family and friends, it's always the time of their demise that we often remember the value of those gifts that they gave to us within their association.
My memories of Viola D. Allen will always linger, especially her spirit of cooperation and support. She was always ready to assist and find resources to come to the aid of displaced individuals and families in need. In 2002, Viola came to The Young Adult Guidance Center, Inc., as an Administrative Assistant and later matriculated to Administrative Officer staff and worked with YAGC until the closure of the center in 2017.
Ms. Allen was a team player and when the YAGC Board of Directors decided to open an outreach service center at 250 Georgia Avenue, Georgia Hill location, even then she was ready for part-time work challenge. With the dedication of Viola, our agency implemented several initiatives from 2018 to March 2023. Viola would always be ready to give her opinion privately, one on one and as humble as she knew how.
It is indeed an honor to pay tribute to a true and dedicated team player who enjoyed helping others.

Ms. Viola Allen was a great friend and I am saddened by her passing. I met her by working at The Young Adult Guidance Center, Inc., where she was the Administrative Officer, assisting Mr. Marion L. Simpson, the founding Executive Director, with the daily administration and operations. She was beautiful soul. She never let the fact that she was in a wheelchair confine her and she was dependable and committed to YAGC's mission of helping young people. She became an "auntie" to me and we would talk for hours on the phone as we helped each other de-stress from the daily grind of working in a grass-roots non-profit. She will be missed greatly. She was a great friend.
Deepest sympathy to our dearest Chris and the Allen family. May God's strength, love, peace, and comfort sactuarate your hearts during this season and forevermore. Love Nate and Francine Jackson 💗
Ms. Viola holds a dear place in my heart. I remember her teaching us songs and Bible trivia in Vacation Bible School. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed me with a warm embrace. My thoughts and prayers are with her son Chris and the rest of her family.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
