Barbara Smith

I met Miss Smith in person a little over a year ago when I was her caregiver; however, I feel as though I have known her for over 30 years, as long as her daughter and I have been friends. She often shared heartfelt family stories with me. When I finally met Miss Barbara, she made me feel truly comfortable and welcome in her home. I will dearly miss her one-liner jokes, her laughter, her singing, her dancing, her love for Burger King burgers, her Tootie Roll Pops, and how slowly she eats her food. But I will always cherish the more serious moments we shared. She would always speak fondly of her love for her girls and her deep appreciation for their care and support. I am grateful to have been part of her life during her later days. I told her how much she meant to me and how deeply I loved her. She will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart.
