Elder Bernard Byrd

Byrd was my lawn man for over 22 years, but he was so much more than that to me. He faithfully cared for my yard while also sharing the Word of God and speaking life, encouragement, and wisdom into my heart. He and his wife were truly a blessing in my life. Through every season, through all the ups and downs, Byrd always had kind words and steady faith to offer. I will truly miss him and will always be grateful for the impact he had on my life.

Sending my condolences to Lisa and Mr. Byrd's entire family.. Mr. Byrd has cut my grass for over 20 year.. it's hard to replace him. Not only did he care for my lawn, he prayed in my yard, preached to me, my kids, my neighbors and animals too if they would listen, in my yard, lol. Take your rest sir, you are missed here on earth, but, I know you are rejoicing in heaven..

What can I say job well done 8 years i known My Yard man .AKA . Mr burd was loving ,Caring ,Free spirit, Always given me the word and boy I needed those words in my darkest ,darkest moments of my life. Reminded me so much of my God DAD they look alike too they say we have alook like twin on the planet. MR Burd always went far and beyond in cutting my grass to make sure it look overly nice thats who he was even down in rain. and went over board by doing a exceptional job. but that truly who he was he was a god sent not only was he my yard man he was my friend him and Ms Lisa was like family to me I can talk to them for hours.they would listen and offer advise when I needed it im in tears about ya Mr Burd you was a real one.it will be no other like you God Fearing spiritual man didnt walk the walk with out talkin and stood 10 toes flat about what he believed in which is the man up stairs.everything Mr Burd would say (IT GONNA BE ALRIGHT) that was his saying with a smile on his face he would say Kayla it gonna be alright.Im going to miss my boy. Your forever in my heart and memory take your rest Mr Burd love you always.Job well done.

I Will Always Remember Uncle Bernard Taking Me And My Brothers Back And Fourth To Bible Study As Kids, And After Every Study You Made Sure You Stop By Burger King And Got Us A Whopper On The Board Lol..... I Thank God For You BeCause Between You And My GrandMa Baby Ray And My Mom Ya'll Made Sure We Know Who God Is!!!! Even In My Adult Hood When You Came To Cut The Yard You Made Sure You Dropped A Sermon On Me.... Mr Bernard Byrd I remember Mr Byrd as hard-working man I remember when he didn't have nothing but a lawn mower and he was taking care of those two young man living with his mom he came a long way and one thing I do know that he survived some of the things that most people want God kept his hand on him for whatever he was going through and now he has given him his wings rest in peace byrd your friend always Robin

I remember Unc showing me and Junebug how to clean the glass bottles properly so we can get the most for them...Outside with him in the back yard cleaning fish and robins...I will always see you this way...ALL PRAISES TO THE MOST HIGH GOD OF ABRAHAM ISSAC AND JACOB

I will always remember the times Uncle Byrd used to come cut the yard and talk about life. Uncle Byrd was a sharp shooter his wisdom always was on point. He could foresee what I was going through with out me even mentioning a word. That confirmed to me that I was thinking in the right direction for what was going on at the time with the moment.

To my brother Leon Grier. I am deeply sorry about your loss. May you find comfort in the memories you shared and strength in the support of those who care about you.

My heart breaks. Mr. Byrd was a lovely man. He cared for my yard and plant beds for more than 10years, showing up like clockwork every Thursday morning and then other days when the season called for it. There was always a smile and a story. I learned about his love of church and family, his adoration for Lisa and Benji, and his words of wisdom for my kids and his own. What a blessing he was. I'll miss you Mr. Byrd.

I'm sad and can't believe I won't hear another one of Byrd funny stories. I met Byrd when he became my mom's handy man. Byrd never knew a stranger the first time I saw Byrd at my parents house he introduced himself to me. Byrd worked for my mom/parents for 50 years. I say he was just like family. I cherish our conversations and the love he had for my parents. Byrd friendly and sometimes funny personality served him well. The love he showed others boomerang back to him. The neighborhood knew and loved him too. Rest in peace Byrd I will miss you! Honey Wellons

Just wanted to say that you were a great husband to my mother and a great father to me and I appreciate everything that you taught me and did for me and countinue to do from heaven. You were a blessing to everyone you came in contact with and now you have your wings. I am hurt that you are gone but I know your in a better place because to be absent from the from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. Thank you for being a blessing to my life and making a positive impact on me and always being there for me for almost 30 years. If anybody going to make it to heaven I know you did. I hired a painter to paint my house. Byrd was the painter's helper. Although Byrd was only 18 he showed up and worked harder than the person I hired.So I hired Byrd and fired the other guy. Since then we became friends and Byrd was like family. Byrd became my handy man and he could fix anything. Later he became mine and a lot of my neighbors lawn man. They loved him too! Byrd and I gardened together and solved problems I'm sending it OKtogether. I took care of him during what he called his Scooter Pooter days. He took care of me and my husband as we grew older. I have 50 years of memories with Byrd and I feel truly blessed to have known him. I will miss him dearly Betsy Hines

My heart is sad at this time,but I know God is to just and wise to make a mistake we may not understand it now but we will by and by, Mr Byrd were a man that loved God and were not ashamed to share it with anyone, and he was an dedicated man of God and to his profession a lawn keeper, he kept my yard up for thirty years always gave his best and sharing the word of God, I'm going to miss him.
