HICKS - Horichio Michael Hicks, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on November 7, 2021. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2PM at Grace Baptist Church of Springfield, 1553 East 21st Street. Mr. Hicks' remains will rest for visitation of family and friends on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5-8PM at the MIXON TOWN CHAPEL of Q. L Douglas Funeral Home, 2403 Edison Ave.

Mike-Mike, I always described you as my daughter's brother. Only now have I realized how much of an impact that you have had in my life. I have known you all of your life. The nine months that separated you from your big sister were close enough for you to be twins. After word of your death, I toggled between calling you God-Son" and "Step-Son" but neither seem to fit as I grappled with what was true... you are gone, never to return to us. I will miss you but I will celebrate good memories. You were loved, you gave love, and you verbalized your love for your big sister at every opportunity that I observed. You have left a legacy that is 2 generations deep, bless their hearts. You walked a hard road in life! May your soul rest in peace now and forever more.
