We met about 23 years ago. I was going through a very hard and low time in my life. He told me he would bring me a box of food the next day. I didn't believe it. The next morning when I opened my front door and low and behold there the box of food was on my porch.
From that point on he and I became great friends. Through the years later he became friends with my parents, my sister's family, my children and grandchildren. Levi was always there to help others in so many ways.
For me it would be to help me move or just move things or go grocery shopping, clothes shopping, doctor's appointments, ride to a friends even in the middle of the night when I was broken down in my car. Many times he would come over and pick no me up to stay and visit a few nights at his home for relaxation and great friendship. He even gave me AND MY DOG a place to stay for a little while. Anyone who really knows Levi knows the dog situation didn't last long AT ALL. He helped me with money for shelter and utilities the time I was in very bad shape.
Levi was someone I could always count on. He listened to my problems and gave great advise. He told me the truth about myself whether I wanted to hear it or not. The greatest was his stories he would tell me. About his wife, children growing up, trips and stories of his grandparents growing up in slave times Levi thought me so many things. We had wonderful times together. I am sorry for his family's loss. I love you Beulah and Carol. Please keep in touch.
Levi I will miss you dearly One thing in particular was our New Year's drink every year. Wasn't always on January 1st it would happen even if a little later after. I miss you and love you
