Margaret Mae Simmons Williams was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, The Order of the Daughters of the King, and the Glory Circle, and she served her community through the Nassau County Community Development Corporation (NCCDC), the NAACP, and the Florida Retired Educators Association (FREA).
A woman of deep prayer, Margaret began and ended each day with Scripture and intercession, faithfully praying for family, friends, and anyone in need. She lovingly instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of faith and a life of prayer.
Margaret taught in the Nassau County school system for 11 years and then served as a social worker for 27 years, treating every person with dignity and respect. She encouraged a love of reading in her grandchildren and many children in her community, and she expressed her creativity through cake decorating and flower arranging.
Committed to staying active, Margaret was a longtime member of Curves, exercising regularly well into her late 80s and continuing to keep active at home in later years. She enjoyed time with family and friends, participating in Senior Center activities, playing Solitaire and crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite game shows.
Above all, Margaret loved God and her family. She was known for her birthday phone calls, singing “Happy Birthday” to loved ones and reminding them that God loved them and so did she. She leaves a legacy of faith, kindness, and steadfast love that will be treasured by all who knew her.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Williams was such an inspiration to me. She was my second grade teacher at Bryant Academy. She was a winner! I was the first to be crowned "Little Mrs BA. If you were a candidate in Mrs. Margaret Williams class, you were going to win. She was an amazing teacher! To the family: I have memories of my time with her, I can only imagine what memories she left with you. Cherish the memories and the love because she truly loved her family. Rest well Mrs. Williams, it's well deserved. We loved you dearly but God loved you best.
May your mother's memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
My heartfelt condolences to Margaret Simmons Williams family and friends. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
