As a coworker, Warren would keep you laughing and smiling. Telling his stories of his time in the Army, his past romances, and his love of history. He would share his outlook on work, as well as on life. As a subordinate, Warren was a challenge, his words to me, " It's my job to F off and your job to catch me!" My Dearest Brother, Warren you were such an inspiration to me, a sister who needed a loving role model so badly and that's what you were to me. You treated your baby sis (as your so affectionately called me) like your own treasure when we were kids. You never even as much as slapped me or said a mean word to me. You were My main encourager! That smile I couldn't wait to see again when you, came back from military tours, always a gift in hand and a hug for your baby sis. I'll always see that smile. We shared many secrets. I was blessed to keep close to you/your thoughts, as we communicated daily in one form or another almost right up to the day you went airborne up into heaven. My dear brother, I carry your love in my heart, so we are never apart. We talked about heaven everyday and your new body you would get. You thrilled my very soul when you delicately explained to me that you prayed to the very same God that I pray to (Jesus). What a comfort this confession meant to me. One of the last gestures of your love for me was in the beautiful diamond ring you so thoughtfully and lovingly sent to your baby Sis just days before you passed, and in that picture of you holding that ring for me your eyes sparkled and you smiled and I cried. My dearest brother every time I look at that diamond, I see the twinkle in your eye's and cherish you even more. I knew the confession to Christ was true, my dear brother, you bore your heart to me one last time and your confession to Christ was the GREATEST gift you could have ever left your baby Sis. You also knew, how much it would mean for me to know your last truth, you knew. I'll always treasure that more than everything and all things put together. So with my heart in yours, heart to heart one more time...I'm coming to see you this time brother, because we are praying to the same God! It won't be long as life is so short. We'll be together forever. Just want you to know I am keeping my promises we talked about forever. So know this up in heaven Big brother, I love you Warren forever! Love you brother Warren. I remember some of those fishing adventures we had... you're the best. Love the interesting talks we all had with the family, good times! Love you brother and will miss seeing you when we visit Florida. Loved the Hellcat ride also... But you are always in our hearts and spirit. I would like to offer my condolences to the Family and especially to Maria for taking the best care of Warren and providing the best companionship a person could ever wish for. You were there when he needed you most! Warren Headley, a good friend and coworker, we go back almost 23 years. From my first day with the School Board to his last day with the School Board. You will be forever missed! Warren was a teacher of life, he showed his visitors in the hospital that you can still smile and enjoy their time even with the news of terminal cancer and a short life expectancy. Warren is a real "Trooper"! Warren's life should have been journaled because he had some very interesting life experiences throughout his lifetime. It would have been a best seller!
