Obituary For Robert Lawson
Robert Lawson was born in Perry, Georgia, on October 20, 1951 to the late George Jay and Annie (Walker) Lawson. In 1994 he was joined in marriage to his beloved Vanessa Little. He became a dad in 1999 when our precious daughter Kapryse RacQuele was born. Robert died in his sleep on July 15, 2026, at the age of 74.
Robert was educated in the public school system in Perry and graduated from Houston County High School.He enjoyed playing cards, taking pictures, checking out fancy cars, tinkering with electronic devices. Some of Robertβs favorite activities were listening to music, traveling, gathering with family/friends, exercising at the gym, watching all kinds of sports: football, basketball, track & field, and watching Star Trek movies. He worked at Holiday Inn in Perry until 1994 in various positions, including Front Desk Manager. He continued his career working with Northrop Grumman until retiring in 2011. Robert believed in God and prayed to Him and he respected the Bible as the Word of God.
He was preceded in death by his sister Annie Hudson and brothers Willie George, Earl, and Eric Lawson.
His memory will be cherished by Vanessa his loving wife of 32 years, his precious daughter Kapryse, his brothers Wallace (Glenda) Lawson of Warner Robins, GA, and Sidney (Sharlene) Lawson of Springfield, MA, In addition, he leaves behind Brother-in-Laws: Joe Hudson of Macon, GA; James L Rackley of Perry, GA; Marvin (Chucky) Davis of Warner Robins, GA; Albert (Debbie) Smith of Eustis, FL; Jerry Smith of Port Salerno, FL; Jimmy (Connie) Smith of Stuart, FL; Gregory (Kathy) Smith and Lorenza(Wade) Howard both of Fort Valley, GA; as well as Sister-in Laws: Beth Ann Lawson of Warner Robins, GA; Linda Little Rogers of Oglethorpe, GA; Sheryl Rackley Jenkins and Sheila Rackley both of Macon, GA; Wendy (Alex) Farrie of Tifton, GA; Jeanette Lee of Fort Pierce, FL; Linda Robinson of Warner Robins, GA; Rose (James) Fate of Chuluota, FL; Elaine Ages of Port St. Lucie, FL; Kassandra (Marco) Candidate, Diana Dotson, and Cecelia Smith all of Port Salerno, FL.
He will also be remembered by a host of caring cousins, nephews, nieces and good close long-time friends.

Add A CondolenceMy love, prayers and condolences go to my sister/mother, Van, and to my niece/child, Kapryse. My heart feels like it is struggling to keep beating. We didn't get to say goodbye to Momma. And now we didn't get to say goodbye to our dear Robert. If I could, I would tell him that he showed me what a good man he was when I would come home to visit from North GA. Before I would leave, Robert would check the air in my tires and the fluids in my engine. He also would slip me some gas money before I drove away. Mom raised us girls to be independent so I already knew how to do all those things and did them regularly. So I was confused by Robert's actions. Van told me simply, "That's just how he is." So I stopped fighting it and relaxed into it nicely. Even suggested once that he wash and detail my ride too. I was Joking, of course. But, those simple acts of care, kindness and concern for my safety showed me that Robert Lawson was a real man. He knew that to love is to give and to give is to live. I will miss him and his "good" hair. "It wasn't nothing but a luster curl." (I used to tell that to him and Charles Jenkins, my other brother-in-law who passed 4 years ago, because their hair naturally curled.) I can't wait until the day when my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ does for Robert and ALL my loved ones who have passed what he did for his dear friend Lazarus- bring them back to life again. (John 11:5,6,11-44) Only this time they will never die again and this earth will be like God meant it to be from the start. "Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH." -Matthew 6:9,10 and Isaiah 65:21-25 and Isaiah 25:8. Van and Kapryse and all who love Robert, I will keep you in my prayers. Love, Sheila Rackley

Rest in Eternal Peace. After many years, I got to see Robert and say hello on July 2, at my brother's funeral. To the familyβI pray God will provide you peace and comfort.
