Elise Delcina Duncan, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbia, Maryland, on Monday, September 7, 2026. She was 99 years old. Born on November 8, 1926, in Georgetown, Guyana and became a naturalized USA citizen in 2016. Elise lived a long and full life, anchoring her large family with grace and strength.

Her legacy lives on through her six surviving children; Orland, Charles, Cheddie, Kenneth, Fenton and Marilyn Worrell. 22 grandchildren; Ramona, Laurel, Kwesi, LaToya Davis, Kesha Thomas 32 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her cherished 96-year-old sister, Verona, and her 92-year-old brother Leonard Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Walter Duncan and two of her beloved children; Brentnol Duncan and Desiree Waterton. Her family will remember her unwavering love, her smiles, resilience, and the warm home she created for generations to gather. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service to celebrate Elise's life and legacy will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Good Hope Union United Methodist Church, located at 14680 Good Hope Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20905.
