Her presences will be missed but my memories of her will remain present always. To the Lenard family, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart go out to you in your time of sorrow and I wish you hope in the midst of sorrow and comfort in the midst of pain. My warmest condolences.

My heart is so heavy in the loss of a dear friend and my former VS DIRECTOR. Lord, comfort the Lenard's and all that knew and loved her. We shared some great moments and she will forever remain in my heart. REST IN HEAVENLY PEACE////

God destined Dr. Delorias Lenard and me to meet in 1996 at a high school sports banquet. In conversation, she invited me to a book club and our history began. "Madame Partner" or "Lois" as she was known by the book club members gave a very good picture of what good moral behavior should portray in everyday life. Lois was compassionate. If someone was experiencing difficult times she made efforts to engage the person in some activity to pick up her spirit. Lois was meticulous in her attention to detail and inordinately early in her timing to begin the details. If Lois was present today she would be working on 2021 Christmas plans at this moment. Lois was adventuresome with desires to experience new sites and venues. She enjoyed sharing and invited others along for a well-planned outing. Lois was food aficionado. She loved trying new dishes and improving traditional ones. Being a veterinarian did not deter her from preparing for consumption any animal God created. Madame Partner was extremely motivated. If there were plans to accomplish a task and there was a nanosecond of pause, she was in charge. Madame partner was a born leader. Who else would move to a new place and in less than two years run for public office? Lois demonstrated many virtuous Kodak moments. I will continue to keep her way of living in focus. Hattie, Henry, Ken, and Kris pray for peace and comfort for the Lenard Family.

Dr. Lenard was like a second mother to me. She taught me so much over the years and was an inspiration to anyone who spent time with her. I have so many wonderful memories of her and I'm blessed to have known her. My heart breaks because I know I can't call her up and just chat about anything or nothing at all, but I know she's rejoicing now! She used to always tell me, "just keep living...". She loved words and the way she proofread made you think she was an English professor! I will miss her laugh and the excitement she brought. I'll miss her creating her own menu item at any given restaurant. I'll miss her friendship and mentorship. I will always cherish our memories! My prayers and sympathy go out to Mr. Willie, William, Shana and her granddaughters.

Delorias (Lois) and I met as neighbors in Columbia,SC. Before long we became very close friends, taking to the highways on some sort of adventure which usually included good food and fine wine. Then came The Partners' Book Club. Over the years we engaged less in reading books and more in weekly outings that were amusing and entertaining. We would go out every Friday acting as Food Critics. Lois would sometimes tell restaurants, whether fine or casual dining or even a fish camp what they should add to their menu or what type of wine should be served, of course only in the Lois way. After meals she would put on her lipstick and say, "Ladies, are you all ready?" Lois was definitely a class act with a beautiful disposition, contagious laughter and heart of gold who could bring any and all people together. She was a change agent and a loyal friend. We looked forward to her wisdom and charismatic leadership. She has definitely left a void but wonderful memories will remain. I am blessed for the friendship we shared for the past 28 plus years. Sending our sincerest sympathy to Lenard, William, Shana and Family. Elaine Robinson and Family

Lost Tree Neighbor and Book Club member. Will always cherish my memories with you.

It was in Divine Order that my friend transitioned on the Kwanzaa celebration day of Unity. Her life is a perfect demonstration of the Unity principles. She is our "Madam Partner" cofounding and holding The Partner's Book Club together for decades. Today I hold your wonderful family and friends in scared love as we adjust. I miss my friend, who is always a shining example of life, even as her body died with the covid virus. Only "the best" come through Tuskegee Institute, Dr. Delorias Macon Lenard. Nobody broke the fast (breakfast) better than you!😢Jules

To the Lenard Family, I recently submitted words of comfort for Delorias sharing that we were friends and neighbors who lived in Lost Tree Subdivision. I chose a red candle because Delorias would often time wear a beautiful shade of red lipstick that I always admired. I realized I forgot to sign my name. Sorrowfully, Regina H. Spruill and family

Dr D, What a lady! She had a smile & laugh that would light up the Ambassador Bridge cargo facility, Detroit, MI. in the 80's. I loved to know her and exchange thought, knowledge & books about animal behaviors and habits. My deepest condolences to all who loved her.

Lois and I shared many adventures and each one was a memorable and forever enjoyable sojourn. From wineries, to farmers' markets, to Caribbean Islands, to TU football and homecomings, to just plain old family gatherings, there was always laughter and learning. Sometimes her questions were fast and furious but always fun to ponder. We will miss Miz. Lois more than we can say. Lenard, you and the family have our deepest sympathy. We are in that boat with you. But, we do believe joy comes in the morning. Phyllis and Alexander

My deepest condolences to the Lenard family. Dr Lenard embraced me and so many other Tuskegee Alumni in the Columbia SC area. She was an excellent role model for me as a young woman starting a career. I fondly remember our Columbia Tuskegee Alumni Association's Christmas socials, tailgating and meals. She was a classy, intelligent and loving person with a heart as big as her smile. She loved entertaining family and friends. Her conversation and presence will be missed. Prayers of comfort and peace of mind for Mr Willie, her children and family. ~Dr. Lesly Wilson James- Columbia SC ('95 Tuskegee Alumni)

To the family I offer my sincere condolences and prayers. I have known her for years through my sister (Gladys) and our family has always accepted her as one of our own. She has attended many family gatherings to include holidays. She was has been there during times of our bereavement. Affectionally known to us as Delorias she leaves a legacy that is now complete and filled with love beyond measure. God has called her home because her work is complete. When I think of Lois, I think of adventure, I think of bright colors, I think of varied conversations, I think of LOVE and SMILES!!! I am one of the four "Houston County Divas" and I can truly say Lois was our President. She was the "Lead Bird" and we all knew we were in good hands. She was unselfish and ready to go and live life to the fullest. I've known Lois for over 48 years and for that I am so grateful to have touched by her. Let us remember her with JOY, SMILES and RECIPES and our hearts will always hold her near. Joyce Ann Belle Simmons

From early childhood and throughout her life, Lois has always been a very special cousin and friend to me. We shared many memories and conversations that will forever be etched in my mind and heart. As one of the Houston County Divas ( a term coined for our group), Lois made sure we kept the road trips planned. Our last trip was to the tulip festival in Montevallo, Alabama, and did we have fun. Lois, I will miss our talks but will never forget you. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Willie Mae Williams White
