To the Cobb Family: We take this time to express our personal condolences to the family of Julia Cobb. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family, and friends of the family during this hour of great sadness. At this time, we reflect back on the many fond memories that we shared with Julia. We saw in her traits that drew us to her. However, although we valued these times, in all honesty we rather have the real person back among ourselves. Really, our thinking is not far off. This is what God also purpose for us in that we be reunited back with our many family members or friends who have died. So we should not be surprised that God has taken the time to share this comfort promise with us that is recorded in the Bible. The promise is recorded at John 5:28-29. The promise states that in the very near future, that God would cause a calling to go forth to those in the grave to stand up in life again. God wants this text to be clear to all those who read the Bible. Yes, He is telling us that our departed loved ones will live again. That you and many others will have the hope of being reunited back with Julia and others. This promised arrangement is possible because God is the source of life for all living persons. (Psalm 36:9) Again even if a person dies, God has the power and the desire to make that person whole again. Our Creator wants all to have strong faith in this future blessing, so He has taken the time to preserve nine accounts in the Bible that speaks about the grand blessing that is ever so near at hand. Her is just one such example that is recorded at Acts 9: 36-42. I hope that all will get a chance to see how these verses apply to Julia, and to many others in a very special way. In closing we encourage all to please keep this promise of God near your hearts at all times. Remember that when God makes a promise, it becomes reality. For it is impossible for God to lie. (Titus 1:2)
Ms. Cobb was such a light when I was growing up in church. She served as one of the advisors for the YWAs and Red Circle. There is not one time I can remember her not smiling, being bubbly, and sharing her light with everyone she encountered. Even when I became an adult, we kept in touch. She always encouraged me and always shared with me how proud she was. I'm so grateful to have known her and will never forget what she meant to me as a child. Side note- she made the best sauerkraut salad - a dish I had never heard of until after meeting Ms. Cobb. Wow, Ms. Cobb- thank you for being a leader and Christian example to a little girl from the Westside of Montgomery.- Tikia Young
