I extend to the Harper family my sincere condolences and prayers in the loss of Coach Harper. He was a very nice man, and I was honored to worship with your family. It was always a blessing to hear him sing the old hymns. May God continue to strengthen and comfort all of you. Min. Tonia Z. Garrison
Like flaming stars disappearing into the night, we never know how long the warmth and the brilliance of those stars will be around as ours to share. Jerome Harper was such a star in my life, due to his kind greetings each morning as we met at our John Brown Apartment doors or any other place about campus, he always paid deference to me, as being a slightly older person and a senior member of the ASU Administration. Although we shared an apartment building with other occupants for less than two years, the memories, courtesies and good manners which Jerome displayed toward me has lasted more than fifty years. He was and is a flaming star in my life. Charles Varner, Jr. Former ASU- V/P University Advancement

Donna &JaDonna, our hearts and prayers go out to you. We called him "The Harp", and it was our way of honoring him for the man that he was. We talked over an hour last summer as we reminisced over our evenings studying for statistics class. Him, Jackie, and Larry and myself up in John Brown Court. From those grad classes a lifetime friendship blossomed. He and Larry will forever be big brothers to us. Rest well in the purple heavens of the Hornet clouds. The Rest OWES family.
Condolences to the family. I remember Jerome from our days on the Yard at ASU 1971-1973.
