Take your rest Mr. White your work is done here 💪💯👏
It truly was a great pleasure and an honor to have known this great Statesman and to have honored him in 2012 for his untiring dedication in his service to Georgia's Rural Counties. What a great Man he was. Mrs. Bonita Hightower.
Former State Representative Lawrence R.Roberts Sr.I had the privilege to serve with this giant for six years representing Albany and Dougherty County in the Georgia General Assembly. We fought hard and advocated tirelessly for our beloved Albany and Dougherty County. So many battles he and I fought for our community are to numerous to start in this tribute. So as I said on yesterday at the home going celebration.Jason and Eric your father was a giant among public servants.I know that he loved the two of you deeply and was proud of you two.So this Nation,State,Montgomery and Albany and Dougherty County are better because State Representative John E White came our way.We mourn him we miss him deeply. However he is entered eternal life and we have the comfort to know "Earth has no sorrow, that Heaven cannot heal "
Representative John White will always be remembered for his wonderful smile and kind, helping and loving heart. RIP.
We honor and respect his memory and value. May he rest in peace 🙏🏽. Judith L

Rep. John White sent me a personal letter of congratulations upon my acceptance into FAMU. I was so happy that he thought to encourage me in my future endeavors. He was a drum major for justice in Southwest Ga. I will always remember that he was not only articulate but impeccably dressed at all times. May his family be comforted by sweet memories and strengthened by Gods love.

The world has lost a giant of men! John White was a great man that did great things for the community and the nation! I was indeed grateful to have met him at the age 15 during the boycott of Piggly Wiggly here in Albany Georgia. He instilled great words of wisdom throughout his life among everyone he met. The rest in heaven Mr John White. I am praying for the family during this time of loss!
John, I will miss my history lessons, my articles, our conversations, my hook up when WALB needs an interview for a story, my text messages, and you telling me alternate ways to get from Montgomery to Albany. I will never forget you standing on your porch in March, watching us drive away, and my phone ringing hearing your voice say "you are going in the wrong direction". You have always been like one of my uncles. I love you. I promise to keep our stories alive. You advocated for us a long time. Now rest!!!!

To the White La Familia,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Mr. John White. He was truly a pioneer, mentor, and a man of wisdom whose impact will never be forgotten.
I was blessed to study under Mr. JW. In the time I knew him, he taught me lessons that will stay with me forever. He taught me to stand against injustice, to always have a plan for moving forward, and to carry myself with purpose and integrity.
One phrase he often told me was, "Let's have a clear understanding so that there is no misunderstanding." Those words reflected the wisdom and leadership he carried every day.
I will always remember him as "Mr. JW — The G.O.A.T." His mentorship, encouragement, and wise counsel changed my life, and I will forever be grateful.
Praying for strength, comfort, and peace for your la familia during this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy, Nia Pagniacci

I will miss you my buddy! Didn't know why my niece Angie and I wanted to stop by and visit with you in March. Not knowing it would be the last time we would see you.
State Representative John White was an example of a man on a mission. He came to Albany and Dougherty County Georgia with a desire to shake things up and make a difference in the lives of those who otherwise might not have thought of themselves as powerful. He was the only African American I saw on the local news which was a refreshing change to the norm. Great Educator and Politician, he reminded me that it wasn't about the people in power but it was about the power in the people and the people had the last say with their vote. He never fully received credit for the Georgia Lottery or the state song or the bills that became laws in Georgia benefiting all citizens. He did an awesome job at FAMU in Florida and ASU in Georgia and Alabama in general. What a great guy who was my neighbor and a source of inspiration. May the soul of this public servant continue to rest in peace. I shall call his name from time to time and keep his memory alive here in The Good Life City because a part of him will forever be etched in the fabric of Georgia. From Hope Scholarships to my cousin Ray Charles rendition of Georgia On My Mind, John White will be forever with us. To his family I say thank you for sharing him with us and we are eternally grateful for the sacrifices he made to better the lives of those who he consider his extended family and friends.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
