Richard, We've known each other for a very long time. It is difficult to accept that you are gone. But in my heart are countless memories of fun, laughter, and friendship that will remain with me, ALWAYS. Your quiet strength, generosity and unwavering devotion to all those around you, leaves a rich legacy that few can claim. But the most enduring memory were the moments that showed your zest for: life, love and dance. If you were here right now, we could have a laugh about our times of dance. Our minds and bodies had no limits. But time, "brings about a change," and when the change came, you fought hard with the same passion you had for life. That passion and strength is the legacy you leave to all those who knew and loved you: "Enjoy the dance of life." "Have no regrets." So, I celebrate your spirit and strength and bid you: "Rest in the Arms of the Angels."
Missing you, ~Sondra~
Excerpted from the lyrics: "I Hope You Dance." ~Gladys Knight
"I hope you never lose your sense of wonder, You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger. May you never take one single breath for granted, God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed." "I hope you still feel small standing by the ocean, Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens. Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance."
"I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance, And never settle for the path of least resistance. Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin', Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin'."
"Don't let some hell-bent heart leave you bitter, When you come close to sellin' out-reconsider. Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance......."
"I hope you dance..........."
Epitaph by Merrit Malloy
When I die Give what's left of me away, To children And old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother Walking the street beside you. And when you need me, Put your arms Around anyone And give them What you need to give to me. I want to leave you something, Something better Than words Or sounds. Look for me In the people I've known Or loved, And if you cannot give me away, At least let me live on in your eyes And not your mind. You can love me most By letting Hands touch hands, By letting bodies touch bodies, And by letting go Of children That need to be free. Love doesn't die, People do. So, when all that's left of me Is LOVE, Give me away.
