Just learning about your transition. I am heart broken that my fellow ducker will not be around to capture our fulfilled moments. What a true Jewell you are to me. Thank you for kindness and random hellos. π¦π¦π¦π¦
A Journey Remembered - As some people journey through life, they leave footprints wherever they go. Footprints of kindness, love, courage, compassion, humor, inspiration, joy and faith. Even when they are gone, we can still look back and clearly see the trail they left behind. Trail bright with hope that invites all to follow. "Blessed are those, who walk in the light of Your presence" - Psalm 89:15. Gone but never forgotten. With Love and Sympathy! Dorsey and Valerie Nelson

Jewell's photographic prowess will be profoundly missed by the many entities that she served, i. e., Resurrection Catholic Church, St Jude's Alumni and Friends Assn., and the numerous organizations that she was apart of. Then there you are even at Resurrection, in your vehicle, at our St Jude yearly reunion, or our class of 73 class regions. My tears flow with love and hurt bc I know you are gone physically but you ate in my heart spiritually. Here's to my CL aka Jewell Cobb Pitts.
Epitaph by Merrit Malloy
When I die, Give what's left of me away, To children And old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother Walking the street beside you. And when you need me, Put your arms Around anyone And give them What you need to give to me. I want to leave you something, Something better Than words Or sounds. Look for me In the people I've known Or loved, And if you cannot give me away, At least let me live on in your eyes And not your mind. You can love me most By letting Hands touch hands, By letting bodies touch bodies, And by letting go Of children That need to be free. Love doesn't die, People do. So, when all that's left of me Is love, Give me away.
In Loving and Honored Remembrance of a Beautiful Soul........
We extend our sincere condolences and prayers to the Pitts family. We had the opportunity to attend St. Jude Educational Institute with Jewell, me in the Class of 1974, and my husband in the Class of 1972. I came to know her as a very nice, intelligent, and kind person. I often saw her when my class went to Resurrection to celebrate our Class Reunions and to services for our classmates. In fact, I saw her a few weeks before her passing. As always, she had a beautiful smile and took a photograph of my classmates and I. Your family will be in our prayers, Asking God to strengthen and comfort all of you in your time of loss. She will truly be missed by all who were blessed to know her. "Earth Hath No Sorrow That Heaven Cannot Heal."

Jewell Cobb Pitts was truly one of a kind. She was the kindest, most loving light in this world. From my very first day working with her at the State Department of Mental Health, she became more than a colleague β she was a friend, a mentor, and a genuinely beautiful woman who showed love to everyone she encountered each and every day. Some of my fondest memories are of us running out of gas trying to go get lunch, planning work events, dressing up for Chick-Fil-A Day, taking countless pictures, searching for planets, meteors, shooting stars, and even the Northern Lights. And of course, I can't forget being her "official" taste-tester for whatever new concoction she had created. Check Facebook for the day I tried the "Strawberry Lemonade" β somehow, I ended up posted for the world to see... "asleep on her back porch"! I will miss my dear, sweet friend more than words can express. Praying for our family during this time and sending words of comfort and strength to you, Micheal, Wesley, G-Ma, Clarence, Henry, and to all who had the opportunity to know Mrs. Jewell Cobb Pitts (JCP).
John 16:22 - So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

Jewel was certainly a sparkly, warm, caring, and wonderful human being. She touched so many of us. I ran into her at many events that she was involved in and cared about! I played on her tennis team more than a few times! I saw her when the Monks were walking through for peace, I saw her at the garden center at the farmers market. She loved her plants! She loved her family and the many others in her life.I think she took some many pictures because she knew how precious life is! I have to say she is one of the most kind and sweet ladies I ever could meet! Bless you Jewell and your family! C.Boyd
