Mrs. Ruthie L. Stoudemire, a resident of Montgomery, Al., passed away October 18, 2025. Family Hour will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, 6 -7 PM, in Ross-Clayton Chapel. Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM from Ward Chapel AME Church, 130 W 4th Street, Prattville, AL. Interment will follow in Chapman Cemetery, Prattville, AL.
Mrs. Ruthie L. Stoudemire was born April 13, 1927 to the late Robert Robinson and Ruth Spencer. She grew up in Prattville, Alabama and accepted Christ at an early age, and joined Ward Chapel AME Church as a child. In November of 1948, she married the late Carl Stoudemire Sr., and was together for sixty years.
She worked for the Autauga County Board of Education and retired in 1993 from Prattville Primary school. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Sr., and her daughter Millicent Stoudemire Robinson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children Zefphlyn Dozier, Carl Stoudemire Jr., Clark (Loretta) Stoudemire, and Beverly (James) Howlett.
Her grandchildren Reggie Dozier Sr., Kevin (Sheila) Dozier, Carletta Stoudemire, Richard Stoudemire, Stephen (Melanie) Stoudemire, Tonoa Barmore (Lonja), Stephanie (Trent) Robinson, Omar Robinson (Katrina), and Crystal Anderson. Her great-grandchildren Reggie Dozier Jr., Shalisha Austin, Draeshun Anderson, Daisha Anderson, Zachary Robinson, DeWarren Cotrell, Stephen Stoudemire Jr., Diamond Cotrell, Kennedi Robinson, Nandi Stoudemire, Nigel Stoudemire, Madison Dozier, and Omarion Robinson. Her great-great grandchildren Khalil Dozier, Elijah Dozier, Brooklyn Rivera, and Cizani Nixon. Her brother Robert-Paul Powell, her sister Belinda Powell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
