Sending condolences to the family of my dear friend Felicia Lewis. Felicia and I met in the 3rd grade, when her father, Mr. Henry Lewis , one of my first mentors, was principal of Hayneville Road School. We were friends and sometimes rivals for 7 years. We finished Junior High at Hayneville Road as Co-Salutatorians in 1971. We kept in touch over the next few years. I graduated from HS and went on to USMA, West Point and she went to Duke. The last time we spoke was September 1974. Some how after the Army-Duke football game in 1974 I found Felicia in the stands and we hugged and talked. Over the years I've tried to keep up with where she was mainly through friends but her passing comes as a shock. She was a warm and gentle soul. Smarter than me and always so plesant and beautiful dealing with everyone. Our prayers go out to her family and we pray that God will comfort and keep you and enrich your life with the memories of a life well lived. Although it's been almost 51 years, the memory of that embrace on that football field will always stay with me and I'll smile when I think of the times we shared at Hayneville Road. God grant her peace and rest until we see each other again. COL (R) William Hamilton and the Hamilton Family
I was out of the country when Felicia passed and just learned of her loss. I along with her family and many friends will miss her. She was a woman of bright mind, beautiful smile, and lovely spirit. It was my pleasure to work with her for several years in the 1980s when she joined the staff of Montgomery! magazine and went on from that publication to become a founding editor in the start-up of a weekly newspaper to serve the African-American community in Montgomery. She continued to use her writing and communication skills in many other ways over the years, and she was always a delight to work with and to be around. She will live on in our hearts and memories. -- Randall Williams

Felicia thanks for your support and guidance while in High School. English was not my best subject however you were there to assist me .
My condolences to the family. With a sunny disposition, beauty, and intelligence Felicia was the most admired in our class. I am so saddened by the news of her passing.
My sincere condolences to the Lewis family. Felicia (affectionately known as FeFe) were roommates at Duke University, where we engaged in our undergraduate studies. I have so many fond memories of the time we spent at Duke. Felicia was always a kind, thoughtful, and loving friend. We lost touch several years after graduation, but she was always in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace dear FeFe. Love, Pam ("P")
