Ms. Lula Patterson, a resident of Mobile, Al., passed away January 9, 2024. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
The last of her family’s generation . . . Mom, grandma, great-grandma, mother-in-law, sister, cousin and more. Lula Mae Poole was born in Montgomery, AL on June 21, 1930. She spent her entire life in Montgomery, except for the last two years spent in Mobile with her daughter and son-in law, where she passed away on January 9, 2024. She married Robert Patterson, Jr. in 1948, who preceded her in death. For nearly 30 years, she worked for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Her proudest role was that of mom, and she leaves to cherish her memories five children and their families.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Christian (Wiley) of Mobile; sons Robert Patterson, III (Doris) of Fayetteville, GA; Mark Patterson (Tashundrea) of Montgomery; Michael Patterson and Ricky Patterson of Montgomery; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister Rene Poole of Montgomery; brother Raymond Poole of Montgomery; niece Charlie Ruth Coleman of Dorchester, MA; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
She is gone from us but will never be forgotten. Mom, we’ll see you again on the other side . . .
Sending love and condolences to Mark and family from the Scott Family - Jocelyn Scott Pearson & Family.
