Reverend and Sister Mary Washington were my Pastor and Beautiful First Lady for eleven years at Pleasant Hill#1 A.M.E. Zion Church in Ada, Al. Reverend Washington was instrumental in the construction of a new Sanitary for Pleasant Hill. Sister Washington with her impeccable flair for fashion represented how a woman should dress and carry herself. When I asked Reverend Washington to write me a recommendation to secure the scholarship I was seeking at Troy State University, he didn't hesitate. Ultimately, I did receive the"George C. Wallace Academic and Leadership" scholarship," To the Washington family: you were blessed with God fearing parents. Church Families, we were blessed with a Pastor sent to us by God. Now it's time for Reverend Washington to take his well deserved rest. "He fought the good fight, he stayed the course; Now laid up for him in Heaven, is a crown of Glory."weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!! Keeping the family lifted up in prayer!" Cathleen (Pritchett) Johnson
