Mr. Roosevelt Maryland, Jr. passed away unexpectedly at the age of 63 on April 24, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Roosevelt Maryland, Sr., and Cubie Maryland of Montgomery, AL. Roosevelt is survived by his beautiful and devoted wife, Evelyn Maryland; their loving children, Nancy Beasley and her husband Adam Beasley, Calvin Williams and his wife, Leila Williams, Rosemary Manzano and her husband Josh Manzano, and Roosevelt Maryland III; and grandchildren Adam, Seth, and Sarah Beasley, Malik Williams, and Nathan and Hanna Manzano. He is also survived by a large extended family as the kind and gentle uncle, brother, nephew, and cousin. Roosevelt was a native son of Montgomery, AL growing up overseas in Japan and the Philippines. He was beloved by his siblings, Ruby Brown, Timothy Maryland, Mary Ann Maryland and Kenneth Maryland. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after dutiful service in Italy, Korea, England, and the States. He earned a degree in Education from Auburn University Montgomery, and remained employed by the State of Alabama until his passing. He remained an Alabama Goodwill Ambassador at Maxwell Air Force Base. He was a deeply spiritual man who was a member and active deacon of Montgomery First Seventh Day Adventist Church. Roosevelt will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
