Obituary For Alfred Hammond, Jr.

Alfred Hammond, Jr., 80 passed away Thursday June 19, 2025 in Memphis, TN. Memorial service will be held Saturday June 28, 2025 at 12:30p.m. . held at Mr. Alfred Hammond age 70, of Memphis, passed away Thursday morning, June 19, 2025, at University of Memphis hospital. He was born July 23, 1954, in Leflore County, MS, the eldest child of the late Aft Hammond and Earlean Hammond.

Alfred was preceded in death by his youngest son, Demario Hammond, his granddaughter, Jaquesha, his younger brother Eddie Hammond and his younger sister Patricia.

He was a member of Golden Gate Cathedral. He enjoyed spending time with his lady and grandchildren.

Alfred is survived by four sons and four daughters-in-law, Jermaine Dunham of Phillipsburg, NJ, Walter Clay (Michelle) of Midway, GA, Marvin Clay (Youlonda) of Memphis, TN. Alexis Hammond (LaTonia) of Memphis, TN and Starnisha Hammond (Demario) of Memphis, TN; His Life Partner: Charleen Every of Memphis, TN, Eighteen (18) grandchildren; Five great grandchildren; and two (2) b rothers, Jerry Hammond of Milwaukee, Wisconsin , Willie B Hammond of Memphis, TN. three (3) sisters: Gloria Hammond of Irving, TX, Rosie Russel and Teresa Hammond of Memphis, TN. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Golden Gate Cathedral in Memphis, TN with Bishop Stevens officiating.
