Obituary For Annette Roddy

Annette Kelley Roddy was born on November 28, 1959, in Crenshaw, Mississippi, to the late Exie and Robert Alice Kelley. She gave her life to Christ at a young age and later became a devoted member of Greater Hope Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Annette graduated from Southside High School and pursued further education at a trade school. She dedicated 20 years of service as a loyal employee at The Peabody Memphis Hotel.

Annette shared 50 beautiful years of life, laughter, and love with her beloved husband, Claude Roddy. They were united in holy matrimony for 40 of those years, and through their union, God blessed them with two wonderful children: Nakisha Nicole and Claude Jr.

If there were ever a fashion statement to be made, Annette made it! Her bold and stunning outfits, infectious smile, laughter, and playful spirit filled every room she entered. She was a joy to be around, and anyone who knew her loved her. Annette quietly transitioned from this life on Saturday, December 27, 2025, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love and joy.

Annette was preceded in death by four siblings: Floyd Kroger III, Delois Kelley, John Kelley, and Mary Christine Kelley. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Claude Roddy Sr.; two children, Nakisha Roddy-Wilson (Jarryl) and Claude “CJ” Roddy Jr.; three grandchildren, MaKayla Jones, Corey Jones II, and Jace Wilson; three bonus children, Antonio Roddy, Charvae Roddy, and Nadra Roddy; six siblings, Doris Kibby, Virgil Kelley, Exie Kelley Jr., Bobby Davis-Kelley, Samuel Kelley, and Edna Rea Houston; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.

Annette’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and style. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her fashionable shoes will never be filled.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 10:00am both will be held at RS Lewis & Sons Funeral Home 3651 Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis, TN 38126.

Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery 2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133
