Anthony Becton was born November 22, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Yvonne and the late Alfred Becton. Anthony peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on October 5, 2022, at 3:00 a.m., at Methodist South Hospital. Anthony accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church. He later joined New Azusa Ministries where he remained a faithful member until his passing. Anthony attended Westwood High School. He pursued a career in bricklaying before becoming physically unable to work. He spent most of his adult life as a proud and supportive son, brother, and uncle. Anthony had a special love for his mother, as they were always sure to look after each other; you would rarely see one without the other. He was a beloved member of the Westwood community. To many friends, he was affectionately known as “Fish”. He was known to bring laughter and love to every space he filled. Anthony is survived by his son, Courtney Watkins; one granddaughter; his mother, Yvonne Becton; and three siblings, Steven Becton Sr. (Stephanie), Kiva Becton, and Marino Jett Sr. He also had a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his two sisters, Sandra and Vicki, and his brother, Daryl.
