Benjamin J. Poindexter, 86, of Memphis, TN was called to his heavenly home on Friday June 6, 2025. An anointed man of God and ambassador for Christ, Bishop Poindexter dedicated his life to leading others to a relationship with the God of the Bible. He was conferred as a Bishop through Independents Fellowship International and as an Elder through the Church of God in Christ. He served as Associate Pastor for Blessed Trinity MBC. He began his professional career as a member of the US Air Force and retired from employment with the Tennessee Department of Corrections. Living to celebrate his life are his wife of 57 years, Sylvia Poindexter; 3 children Darrilynn Poindexter Williams (Darion), LaShaunda Poindexter Massey, and Brian J. Poindexter; 3 grandchildren Erin, Eric, and Ean; and a host of brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 Visitation will be from 9:00am- 10:55am with a service of Celebration to follow at 11:00am both will be held at Pentecostal Temple Institutional Church of God in Christ 229 S Danny Thomas Blvd, Memphis, TN 38126.
Interment: Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2pm West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125

Uncle Benny was always my favorite, Jean and he were so close. If you saw one, you saw the other. I remember, especially, all the holidays gatherings, they were like festivals. I will truly miss you, King Benjamin. Love you and RIH ♥️♥️
